Empecé con el boxeo hace algo más de tres años. Alex Valls, mi profesor, me convenció y el hecho de poder ir a cualquier hora hizo el resto. Las clases empezaron en precario pero poco a poco se fue equipando el gimnasio. Con el ring de boxeo llegaron las veladas y empecé a fotografiarlas. Me pareció un reto fotográfico interesante (encuadre, anticipación, obturación, diafragma...) Es curioso la increíble variedad de personas que practica este deporte y la que disfruta compitiendo pese a la dureza que supone. Como espectador simplemente puedo decir que es emocionante, auténtico y también tiene algo de primario, un espacio de violencia controlada.

I started boxing for more than three years. Alex Valls, my teacher, convinced me and the fact that you can go to class anytime during the day did the rest. Classes started precariously, but little by little the gym got equipped. With the boxing ring the soirees started and I started taking pictures of them. For me was an interesting photographing challenge (framing, anticipation, shutter speed, aperture...) Is quite curious the incredible variety of people that practices this sport and that enjoys to competing despite the harness it implies. As a viewer I just can say that is thrilling, authentic and it has also that is primal, a space of controlled violence
